Shorts Industries Limited has been producing and supplying engineering products for buildings since 1945 developing an enviable reputation in the UK lift industry. We are an ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified company.

Shorts is in turn part of Read Holdings, an international privately owned UK Company that has been in the hands of the same family for over 150 years.

For over ten years, Shorts was one of the leading suppliers of air conditioning systems to the UK HVAC industry. From our regional centres in London and Yorkshire we have supplied a complete range of systems from some of the world's largest air conditioning manufacturers, including LG and Mitsubishi. During this time, we earned a reputation for distributing top quality products with unrivalled service backup to UK Building Services Consultants and Contractors.

As a direct result of our total commitment to the environment, in 2008 we took the decision to concentrate all of our activities in the area of energy saving / low carbon building services equipment. Initially we entered into a partnership with Italian manufacturer Robur SpA. This has enabled Shorts to make Robur's unique high efficiency / low carbon gas-fired heat pump range available in the UK. More recently, we have entered a partnership with the Japanese manufacturer Yazaki, to make its internationally recognized range of high efficiency gas and hot water-fired chillers available to the UK HVAC industry for the first time.

Shorts are a Patron of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and are members of the Heat Pump Association (HPA).
